Yes, we offer Personal Training. At Temple Fitness, we don’t do things like everyone else. Our PT service has several steps.

    1. We start with an initial consult:- We discuss your training history, goals, likes & dislikes etc. This is so we get and understand you.
    2. The next step is where we write up your program. This is all based on what we discussed in step 1.
    3. When you are ready, we go through the program and coach you on technique, while explaining all the fine points.
    4. Now you get to decide if you want to go it alone or work with a PT. The choice is always your.

All our PT have guiding principles that we work by.

Firstly: Do No Harm – We will never get you to do something that we know you can’t do or do safely.

Secondly: Technique comes first – Using good form/technique is at the top of the list for importance. When you exercise with good form, you minimise the risk of injury and improve your ability to develop strength.

Thirdly: We adapt the exercise to fit you – Every exercise can be adapted, if you are unable to do a particular exercise, that’s ok. We can modify it, change it or remove it. We will never punish you or make you feel bad because of it.

Our guidelines for developing your program and working with you are:

Goal setting: Understanding your personal goals is crucial to creating a successful fitness program. We will work together to set realistic and attainable goals, including weight loss, muscle gain, increased strength, or improve cardiovascular health.

Assessment: Before starting any fitness program, it’s essential to assess your current fitness level, movement patterns, and any limitations. This process will help us design a safe and effective program that targets your specific needs and minimises your risk of injury.

Progressive overload: To see progress, it’s vital to continually challenge your body by increasing the intensity, volume, or complexity of your exercises. We will monitor your progress and make adjustments to your program accordingly, ensuring that you continue to see results without hitting a plateau.

Balance: A well-rounded fitness program should include a balance of cardiovascular exercise, strength training, flexibility, and mobility work. This approach will help you reach your goals faster and contribute to your overall health and well-being.

Nutrition: No fitness program is complete without proper nutrition. We will guide you on fuelling your body with the right nutrients, which will support your workouts and help you achieve your goals more efficiently.

Accountability and support: As your personal trainer, we are here to provide support, encouragement, and motivation. We will hold you accountable for your progress and make sure that you stay on track with your fitness journey.

Education: Knowledge is power. We will teach you about proper exercise techniques, avoiding injuries, and making the most of your workouts. This knowledge will empower you to maintain your fitness after our training sessions.

By following these principles, we are confident that we can work together to help you achieve your health and fitness goals. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to schedule a chat. Questions cost nothing and we are happy to answer them.

You can find all our PT rates on our menu board near the entry.

Yes!

Nutrition is a solid cornerstone in reaching your goals and living a healthy life. Our nutrition coaching is based on a few principals.

We don’t do diets – Diets are short lived events in nutrition. Diets can be very restrictive and almost always have a very low long term compliance.

No food is wrong – If you restrict a particular food or food group, you miss all the nutrients they provide. It also leads to cravings, which often make you crash your plan and then you feel like you failed. This is never a great place to be.

Meal Plans are unrealistic – We have found that when we provided meal plans, they quickly don’t get used because life happens. Meal plans don’t tell you what to eat, not how your food affects your body or what to do when you are out and about, because everyone is different. They look great on paper and when you get them, you say “Yeah, I can do that!”. You stick to it for awhile, then miss a meal, then a day, then  stop all together. We see a meal plan like a diet, adherence is low, results are questionable and stress is high.

We work with you as an individual. We start with your history and then move to your present and set you up for your future.

When you come to the gym, you need some gear. It’s a simple list:

  • Your key tag (so you can get in)
  • A towel,
  • A Drink bottle, and
  • A padlock for the lockers. It’s really important to keep your belongings safe.

It also helps to bring a sense of fun.

Absolutely, and it’s all to protect you and our equipment.

You need good footwear and they must be enclosed like runners or cross trainers. Thongs/pluggers/jangles are not suitable as there is a high risk of slipping in them, which is not great when you are moving weights around or on cardio equipment.

Please don’t wear dirty, smelly clothes. It upsets everyone if you leave dirty marks on the equipment and smells can linger for quite awhile. No one wants to use it after that.

Socks and sandals are a fashion crime and should never be worn together 🙂

The general clothing required for working out is good Sportswear.

Finally, please don’t wear over revealing clothing, it distracts everyone. I include males & females in this. Don’t train with your shirts off

We provide a range of Group Training classes to suit everyone. all our classes are coach led, so you get to learn how to do things properly.

Strong Bodyz

This is a strength based class that lasts about 45 minutes and run on Mon, Wed & Fri evenings at 5:15 pm. The exercises you will do could include using Bodyweight, Dumbbells, Barbells, Kettle Bells, bands and sandbags. Nothing is off limits in this class.

One day you might do upper body, then the next is full body. One day might be mostly conditioning, the next might be restorative and stretching exercises. Ever day will be different, but don’t be scared, your Coach is there to help.

Conditioned Bodyz

This is our High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) class. It lasts no more than 30 minutes and is run on Tue & Thurs at 5:30 pm. If you want to build your fitness quickly, this is the class for you

The class is based around conditioning and can include the same equipment as our Strong Bodyz class, but in a different way. If you think you can’t keep up with this, that’s ok! It is all about improving you, not comparing you with someone else. We start slow and build on that.

Boxing Fitness

This is a bucket load of fun! Our Boxing class is a solid workout, we hit pads, not each other. You don’t have to know how to box to do this class, we will teach you everything. Our Boxing classes run on:

Wed at 6 pm

Fri at 5:45 am, and

Sat at 10 am.

Many of our regulars are surprised by how strong they become from just hitting pads. You don’t need to bring anything, apart from a towel & drink bottles. We provide the gloves & pads and if you get serious, we have wraps available at reception.

Fitizens

This is a class for the 60+, but we often get youngies in who are just starting out. Our Fitizens classes run on Mon, Tue & Thurs at 9:15 am.

You get out of this class more than you put in. It’s a very social group that often finishes with a cuppa at The Coffee Club downstairs. No two days are the same and we have lots of fun. We exercise with bodyweight, bands and weights and always finish of with a good stretch (and maybe some sneaky core work :))

Zumba

Get your dance shoes on and shake your booty. Zumba is dance based fitness. Our Zumba class is run on Wednesday morning at 9:15 am.

If you’re like me and can’t dance, that is no problem, Zumba knows how to get you moving 🙂

All of these classes are included in your Temple membership, you just need to book in here.

We also have a Junior Fitness Program that runs Mon – Fri from 3:45 – 4:30 pm. Sometimes we might start a little later, as it depends on what the kids are doing that day. The ages we work with are about 8-14 years, it depends on the child. Some are just too small to use the equipment safely.

Coming Soon

We are planning 3 more options for the very near future. All of which are extra on top of your membership.

  1. Yoga
  2. Reformer Pilates – Yep, we are brining it back.
  3. Small Group Training – Training with your friends (or new friends)

Ideally, Yes.

It allows us to plan the classes better. You can book your class here.

We have a range of membership options. All our memberships include large group classes, see the FAQ above “What group classes are offered at the gym?”. Also membership at Temple Fitness means:

  • No Contracts
  • No Joining Fees
  • No Tag Fees
  • No Cancellation Fees

The only fees we charge extra for is the cost of doing financial transactions, which we get charged.

There is a $0.70 transaction fee and a $6.60 failed payment fee. Other gyms probably charge more for these.

Our standard membership is only $20/week and we provide discounts for Seniors (60+), Students and 1st Responders (Police, Fire, Ambulance, Hospital Staff Defence and Prison Staff).

You can become a member here.

We are a Family Owned & Operated Health & Fitness Centre, and we understand the value of community. We provide discounts for Seniors (60+), Students and 1st Responders (Police, Fire, Ambulance, Hospital Staff Defence and Prison Staff). If you sign up online, it is completed using the general membership. When you come in, bring your specific ID and we will change it over.

Also remember, membership at Temple Fitness means:

  • No Contracts
  • No Joining Fees
  • No Tag Fees
  • No Cancellation Fees

So come in and talk to us or sign up online here.

Generally not without letting us know. A daily guest pass is available. And if you plan on bringing someone in after hours, you must arrange this prior with our admin team.

If you are in your first week of membership you can use our wingman policy.

Wingman Policy

We know that gyms can be intimidating and a bit scary. So we allow you to bring a friend with you (at no cost) for your first week. We just need to register their details and sign a waiver. This can be done at the tablet in Reception.

We try to be fair and reasonable in everything we do, that is why we have:

    • No Contracts
    • No Joining Fees
    • No Tag Fees
    • No Cancellation Fees

If you wish to cancel your membership, just send an email to stop@templefitness.com.au and provide your details. If it would be ok, we would also like to know why, you don’t have to tell us fibs and say you are moving out of the area. We want to be the best gym, so if we have done anything to make you leave, we want to fix that. To help, we have a quick survey for you to fill out when you leave.

We are unable to cancel your membership if there are outstanding fees, our system won’t let us.  We don’t want your fees to keep accumulating, so we need the fees paid before we can let you go.

Yes you can!

Life gets in the way of every plan, we know that, it happens to us as well. So we actually allow up to 3 months suspension (we don’t charge a fee for this). We can extend that time under special circumstances, just talk to us.

Our membership fees carry fees for:

Transactions – $0.70

Failed Payments – $6.60

You can find all our PT rates on our menu board near the entry.

If you wish to update your contact information, just email us at questions@templefitness.com.au.

To update your payment details, for security reasons, it’s best to drop in and let us know.

If your gym provides childcare services, provide details on hours, pricing, and any age restrictions.

We have an abundance of parking at all hours. One of the benefits of being on the top level of Booval Fair Shopping Centre means we have a car park for thousands of cars.

It’s best to park on the top of the multi-story car park along South Station Rd. Use the walkway across to the top level and you are at our front door.

We need parental consent for people under 18 who wish to become members. We have special student rates.

If you are under 16, we can’t provide you with a 24×7 access tag. You can only gain entry during staffed hours. This is to keep you safe.

We also have a our ‘Be That Change’ policy.

Be That Change

We love it when parents give a great example to their children by going to the gym, showing them how to have a healthy lifestyle. It’s too easy for families to not exercise together, even the simple act of walking.

To encourage a healthy lifestyle, we want you to bring your children (9- 16yo) with you when you workout. So we don’t charge your children a membership if they are with you.

They will be your responsibility when they are here and they can’t just play on the equipment or interrupt other people working out. Also, they must be with you. If they want to come by themselves, then we have to charge a membership.

So, Be That Change, and show your children what it means to workout and be strong.
