About Temple

Hi,

I’m Pete K and I own and run Temple Fitness. I purchased the gym in late 2019, just in time for a World Wide Pandemic to start. Yay, great timing 🙂

Anyway, I’m living out my dream of owning a gym, I remember going into my first gym when I was about 16 and thinking ‘This is so cool, I want one’. But life gets in the way, even though I have been going to gym’s for most of my adult life, I still didn’t have one.

My life has meandered through the Fitness world. Being in the Military (RAAF), you never get a choice, but it was a great time to build strength. Then the next 20 years, like most people I got out of shape, which tends to happen working in IT. My IT career started as a civilian in Defence, followed by Police and various other QLD Government Agencies. I finished my IT career at The University of Queensland, which is where I decided to call it a day and give back to society. I’m pretty sure my Blood Pressure dropped a few points after my last day there.

So, now I have the best job in the world. I work with some great people and meet new ones every day. I run our Boxing Fitness classes, which I love. I’m not a boxer but have been doing Karate for about 13 years, teaching for maybe 10 of those. I absolutely love running that class. You will also find me teaching the kids classes, I try to teach them great habits now, which hopefully will stick with them for the rest of their life.

Anyway, that’s enough about me, I can bore you one day in the gym about my life. You might need a pillow, as there is nothing remarkable about me, I just love what I do. I hope to see you soon.
